Which specific iPad® models fit into the X Series 10/11" Enclosure?

The X Series 10/11” is confirmed to be compatible with iPad® Air® 4th, 5th Gen, iPad® Pro® 11" 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Gen, and iPad®® (A16 Chip) & 10th Gen. It is NOT compatible with any model not listed prior, including: iPad® Air® M2, M3 Chip, iPad® Pro® 11" M4, M5 Chip, iPad® Pro® 13" M4, M5 Chip, and iPad® Pro® 12.9" Models

Will this enclosure fit newer iPad® Air or iPad® Pro models with M2, M3, M4, or M5 chips?

As new models continue to release, we will confirm their compatibility with the X Series 10/11”. As of now, the following models are NOT compatible: iPad® Air M2, M3 Chip, iPad® Pro 11" M4, M5 Chip, iPad® Pro 13" M4, M5 Chip, and iPad® Pro 12.9" Models

Can I leave my existing protective sleeve or third-party case on my iPad® when placing it in the enclosure?

No. This enclosure is designed to be a standalone iPad® case, not to be used in conjunction with any other case or protection. Thin screen protectors will however work just fine.

Does this enclosure work with 10-inch or 11-inch Android tablets, or is it strictly designed for Apple iPad®?

The X Series 10/11” is designed only for specific iPad® models. No Android tablets are currently compatible.

Does the X Series Enclosure come with a mounting bracket or arm included, or is it just the enclosure?

The X Series is sold as just an enclosure, no mount included. However, it is designed with compatibility for all of our tablet mount offerings. Click here to learn more.

What mounting patterns (such as VESA or AMPS) are built into the back of the enclosure?

There are pre-drilled mounting patterns for 75mm & 100mm VESA, AMPs, and Mob Armor Quick Release Mount (M.A.Q.R.M).

Can I bolt or mount this enclosure directly onto a vehicle dashboard, wall, or machinery?

You can absolutely mount the enclosure directly to any hardware that utilizes one of the pre-drilled mounting patterns on the back plate of the enclosure. For maximum versatility with viewing angles and tablet access, we recommend using one of our Direct or Flush tablet mount offerings to achieve this.

What materials are used to construct the X Series Enclosure?

The exterior of the case is constructed from corrosion-resistant 5052-H32 aluminum. It also features thermoplastic polyurethane bumpers to absorb shocks, enhancing protective case security both inside and outside of the case.

How much drop and shock protection does this case provide in off-road, first-responder, or industrial environments?

The X Series has been tested to military-grade MIL-STD-810H standards, a test standard that guides how to tailor environmental design and laboratory tests to match the real-world conditions equipment will face during use.

Is the enclosure weather-resistant, waterproof, or dustproof for open-cab vehicles, UTVs, or boats?

This enclosure will not protect from liquids or dust in open-cab use. It is designed as a shield for larger objects, drops, and heavy vibration.

Will the metal interior or hardware scratch the finish of my iPad®?

The interior of the enclosure is lined with protective foam padding, ensuring your tablet stays protected from repeated vibration against the structure of the case.

Does the enclosure allow full access to TouchID®, FaceID®, side buttons? What about Apple Pencil® access?

Yes, all buttons as well as TouchID® & FaceID® is easily accessible on all compatible devices. There is also space for Apple Pencil® storage, charging, and access.

Is there access to the charging port so I can keep the iPad® plugged in while driving or working?

Yes, there is an opening in the bottom center of the case for uninterrupted access to the USB-C or Lightning port.

Does the enclosure block the front or rear cameras, microphones, or speakers?

No, you will continue to have full access to all device cameras, microphones, and speakers when using the X Series.

How do I physically install my iPad® into the enclosure, and are tools required?

Installing your iPad® into the X Series requires the removal of multiple screws in order to take the face plate off and place your iPad®. A hex wrench is included for easy installation. If you are mounting the enclosure via one of the pre-drilled mounting patterns, we recommend installing the associated hardware before placing your iPad® in the enclosure.
